Muktsar: As per transfer orders issued by the state government on Thursday night, Muktsar district has got its first woman SSP, D Sudarvizhi. At present, she is serving as the DCP (Detective), Jalandhar. She will take over as the 28th SSP of the district, replacing Raj Bachan Singh Sandhu, who has been transferred as the Joint Commissioner of Police (Headquarters), Amritsar. TNS

Cop fires at colleague, held

Moga: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of the local police shot at another ASI with his service rifle, following an argument on the premises of the mini-secretariat here late Thursday night. Sukhraj Singh was arrested and an attempt-to-murder case under Section 307 of the IPC and various sections of the Arms Act was registered against him. He allegedly fired at least eight bullets at ASI Kirpal Singh, who escaped unhurt. TNS

Chandigarh: A webinar on the New Education Policy was organised on Friday by the Federation of Self-Financing Technical Institutions under its chief patron RS Munirathinam and president Dr Anshu Kataria. Chandigarh: A two-day national seminar-cum-e-workshop on experimental electronics began on Friday.
