Chandigarh, August 18
Farmers in Punjab are planning to intensify their agitation across the state, beginning with rallies on September 15.
A decision to this effect was taken in a joint meeting of various farmer organisations held here today. The meeting was chaired by state president of the All-India Kisan Sangharsh Committee Harjinder Singh Tanda.
All 10 farmer organisations affiliated to the committee as well as three other organisations have decided to hold rallies against three farm ordinances announced by the Centre, the “anti-farmer” recommendations of Montek Singh Ahluwalia report on reviving Punjab’s economy and the Electricity Amendment Bill, 2020. — TNS
