The recent rainfall has delayed the special girdawari work in the district.
After the rains in July, the government had ordered the special girdawari. The assessment of losses to crops and buildings had to be completed within 15 days. The rains in July had caused massive loss to crops. Further, the rainwater was drained out from some villages after almost 15-20 days. The affected farmers had demanded compensation.
Avtar Singh, District Revenue Officer, Muktsar, said, “The recent rains have delayed the special girdawari work, which had to be completed within 15 days.” — TNS
