Celebrating 350th birthday of Sikh warrior Banda Singh Bahadur, farmers' organisation Kirti Kisan Union today organised two political conferences at Gurdas Nangal and Fatehgarh Sahib.
Paying tributes of Banda Bahadur, union vice-president Rajinder Singh Deep Singhwala said Banda Bahadur was the first man in the region who fought for land for tillers. He said he snatched lands from the feudal lords and allotted it to the landless.
He said, "when the Acts are being brought to snatch the land of farmers, we need to take inspiration from Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, who fought for the landless." — TNS
