Phagwara, November 9
SAD chief Sukhbir Badal said today that the Centre was apparently treating Punjab like its enemy by imposing economic blockades on it.
"
Dictatorial policy
The Centre is following a dictatorial policy and sort of isolating Punjab on various ongoing issues.
"
Sukhbir said this on the sidelights of the party's rally at Phagwara today. "The Centre is following a dictatorial policy and sort of isolating Punjab on various ongoing issues. The Central authorities are not even ready to meet people from Punjab. Such things are uncalled for in a democracy."
He claimed that the Centre seemed to be creating a divide between farmers and non-farming community or between the urban and rural Punjab. On the closure of the Kartarpur corridor, Sukhbir said, "I am planning to take a delegation on the matter to the Centre. Guru Nanak's 551st Gurpurab is around the corner and there is an increasing sentiment in the Sikh community that the corridor should be opened, especially since everything else has got unlocked." — TNS
