Barnala, November 9
A Kaleke resident was shot while two others suffered serious injuries after some villagers opened fire and attacked them with sharp weapons over a land dispute. The police have initiated an investigation and are conducting raids to arrest the suspects.
Jasmale Singh claimed Pardeep Singh, Bhapur Singh and Mani Singh opened fire while he along with his nephews Kulwinder Singh (37) and Gurkirat Singh was working in the field. He alleged the accused had a land dispute with them.
Dhanaula SHO Kuldeep Singh said: "We have registered a case and are conducting raids to arrest the accused." Jasmale had last evening informed the police about the dispute and both parties were summoned to the police station in the morning. However, the accused attacked the victims in the morning. — TNS
