Even after the withdrawal of the 'rail roko' agitation by farmers and clearing of all tracks, the Railways has not been able to restore normal train service due to barricades put up by a splinter group of protesting farmers. The Railways had announced that one train would remain cancelled while seven others would have truncated run (partially cancelled from November 26 to 28, 2020).

According to officials, 04653 New Jalpaiguri-Amritsar express (journey commencing on November 27) would remain cancelled.

Seven other Amritsar-bound Covid Special and Festival Special trains would short-terminate at and short-originate from Ambala Cantt, Chandigarh and New Delhi.

At Ambala Cantt: 08237/38 Korba-Amritsar-Korba Chhattisgarh Express (on Nov 26, 27); 04652 Amritsar-Jaynagar Humsafar Express (on Nov 28).

At Chandigarh: 02925/26 Bandra Terminus-Amritsar-Bandra Terminus Pashchim Express (on Nov 26, 27).

At New Delhi: 02715/16 Nanded-Amritsar-New Delhi Sachkhand Express (on Nov 26, 27).

Diversion of trains: 02903/04 Mumbai Central-Amritsar-Mumbai Central Golden Temple Mail (via Amritsar-Tarn Taran-Beas); 04649 Jaynagar-Amritsar-Saryu Yamuna Express and 04673 Jaynagar-Amritsar Shaheed Express (via Beas-Tarn Taran-Amritsar); 04650 Amritsar-Jaynagar Saryu Yamuna Express and 04674 Amritsar-Jaynagar Shaheed Express (via Amritsar-Tarn Taran-Beas).
